We are looking for a Financial Reporting Manager to deliver excellence in financial reporting and act as the group expert on IFRS, complex accounting and audit liaison.

The role:

The Group Reporting team oversees the accounting, consolidation and reporting of the Alter Domus globally, supporting and working with regional and group finance teams. The Financial Reporting Manager’s key role is to work alongside our dedicated consolidation expert to deliver monthly and annual consolidated financial statements, along with managing the accounting for complex share schemes, acquisitions, taxes and other specialist areas.

Responsibilities cover:

  • Prepare complete and quality PLC-style Annual Report for the group under IFRS
  • Act as the go-to expert for technical accounting topics and judgements
  • Liaise with auditors globally and in Luxembourg on documentation, judgements and quality of financial reporting
  • Oversee and deliver accounting for any acquisitions undertaken
  • Management of complex accounting matters, including sophisticated share scheme vehicles, M&A, (re)financing, IFRS 15 and IFRS 9 application, IAS 38 and similar judgements, IAS 21 and deferred tax
  • Oversee quality and accuracy of tax (including deferred tax) accounting
  • Support and mentor regions on matters of complexity and in particular financial reporting matters
  • Independent oversight and monitor of local accounting and balance sheet quality on complex topics (especially for investment, financing and holding companies)
  • Other specialist and high-value projects in support of Group Finance

The person:

The candidate for this role is likely to demonstrate:

  • Strong technical competence and in particular an ability to understand and apply skills in IFRS accounting
  • An ability to understand and describe complex matters effectively to non-technical colleagues
  • An ability to collaborate with colleagues in different locations, different background, age, language, nationality
  • Comfort in taking personal ownership of large and complex tasks within a supportive team network
  • Qualified accountant with 3-6 years of experience, preferably in service industry and / or audit
  • The skills to manage priorities
  • Experience of large scale external audits and appreciate the core value of maintaining an audit trail that backs up our reporting
  • English language fluency is required, any other language is a plus

Reporting line and location:

The role reports into the Head of Group Reporting in Luxembourg. The role will be based in Malta or Cork, with peers and stakeholders across the world.
