We are currently seeking a new Site Reliability Engineer to join our talented tech team. This is a highly visible position that will require daily interaction with the business users to support break/fix, ad hoc service requests and release management. While production support is the primary responsibility, duties will also include release management, DevOps, and contributing to our platform strategy to drive continuous improvements. You will work closely with our Engineering and Product Teams to deliver best-in-class support to our growing user base. JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Be responsible for the reliability and uptime appropriate to users’ needs of Cloud solutions and services
  • Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews
  • Write, review, and execute SQL code and tools to assist Level 2 & 3 support to diagnose and resolve incidents
  • Maintain and improve services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
  • Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and infrastructure; implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems within a geoscience workflow
  • Collaborate with network and security staff to ensure smooth, secure and reliable operation of application software and systems
  • Develop, implement and document best practice policies and procedures for new projects or initiatives
  • Use the service management systems, ensuring that best practices and lessons learned are made available to the wider technical community
  • Engage in incident response and blameless postmortems
  • Maintains the required level of DevOps expertise and skills for self and team through training and development as appropriate for the execution of the project
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor a suite of CI/CD pipelines for products
  • Regularly engage with the development team on code compliance, security scans and static/dynamic analyses to maintain quality compliance on all code repositories
  • Participate in advanced debugging activities on the cloud-based distributed system

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps CI/CD tools, including Pipelines and Releases
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as Microsoft Azure
  • Knowledge of application monitoring tools (e.g. DataDog, NewRelic, AppInsights)
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent related professional experience) / Master’s degree in science or engineering with software experience or education
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
