Alter Domus is looking for a Technical Business Analyst to drive the continued expansion of its financial technology solutions to the Alternative Investment industry.   The business unit is a FinTech setup where you will be leading and building best-in-class software.  Our tech-enabled platform is the market’s only capital administration solution purpose-built to meet the unique demands of alternative investment managers.  This proprietary software solution helps General Partners simplify complex capital administration issues, while ensuring they deliver a seamless reporting experience to Limited Partners and General Partner members.

Leveraging your expert business analyst and SQL skills in an accounting/financial context, you will work within an agile team structure to define and deliver new software features, support new client implementations and support our production users.  We offer a highly collaborative setting in a fast-paced environment where data is at the center of our software and client experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Design business functionality to automate scalable, performant, and secure software solutions.
  • Collaborate with our development teams to design, implement data-driven applications and services.
  • Perform high level and detailed data analysis of financial data from private equity clients from a variety of sources, including General Ledger systems, Excel spreadsheets, and proprietary or legacy systems and aligning to our proprietary data formats and database structures.
  • Execute, maintain, and enhance existing SQL queries for every-day system configuration requirements across various client deliverables within the product pipeline.
  • Define relevant test scenarios and assist with mapping and testing new data integration platforms.
  • Demonstrate that you can learn the business logic and actively contribute to new features on our roadmap.
  • Create test cases to enable end-to-end verification of accounting and financial artifacts and workflows.
  • Applying your data and SQL skills, assist the business users with ad hoc requests, unique dataset extraction needs, and perform complex data analyses specific to business requirements and support for ongoing configuration maintenance.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • A successful candidate is an ambitious career-minded professional having 3+years of proven success in a related role and possessing a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related degree.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Expertise with SQL coding and data normalization in RDBMS platforms. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, SSMS, SSIS and T-SQL.
  • Experience in data processing concepts / principals and validation techniques to ensure data integrity and data quality.
  • Experience with handling large data sets using reports/queries, uploads using data imports and integration tools.
  • Experience with creating testing plans for processes that ensure processes are functioning within acceptable ranges.
  • Experience with data integration, data warehousing and visualization tools a plus.
  • Knowledge of accounting a plus.
  • Knowledge of web technologies, HTML, CSS, JavaScript a plus.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills to support effective communication with a wide variety of constituents.
  • Ability to interact with clients, always maintaining the integrity of the Alter Domus brand.
