JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our CapAssure Product Delivery team as a Business Systems Analyst. The responsibilities include and is not limited to data analysis; maintaining data assets; and gathering, organizing, and interpreting information based on the data in the database and supporting day-to-day activities within the Product organization, tracking client requests and deliverables. These responsibilities span the full lifecycle of our SaaS application system, requires functional understanding, Quality Assurance testing and post-production support. This involves detailed system configuration analysis, staging SQL queries, application of changes to the database and validating data and system configuration changes in QA, UAT and Production. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for performing functional testing, report testing, regressions testing to validate application functionality and ensure quality. The role also includes assisting the business users with any data analysis, unique dataset extraction needs, and perform complex data analyses specific to business requirements. The same responsibilities apply to execution of new client on-boarding and support for ongoing configuration maintenance.

A successful candidate should demonstrate strong RDBMS understanding, SQL skills, analytical thinking, ability to comfortably handle complex data, problem solving and be detail oriented. Full systems development life cycle experience including all phases of testing for enterprise class systems is preferred. Candidates must be well organized and be willing to work with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform high level and detailed data analysis of financial data from private equity clients from a variety of sources, including General Ledger systems, Excel spreadsheets, and proprietary or legacy systems and aligning to the CapAssure data formats and database structures.
  • Define relevant test scenarios and plans and ability to perform Functional testing on new features, changes in functionalities, or new reports. Ability to then record and document results from test cases and compare to expected results.
  • In-depth understanding of SDLC, from requirements analysis to formal system delivery and proven experience that demonstrates competence facilitating and supporting the full Systems Development Lifecycle process.
  • Ability to understand the CapAssure data model and independently write detailed SQL scripts to extract logical information and present effective data analyses to both Product and Client Service teams.
  • Ability to perform data analysis on extracted information using MS Excel with expertise in utilizing mathematical and functional techniques to slice and dice data (must have experience with pivots and advanced filtering techniques).
  • Must be able to write SQL scripts to stage system configuration updates based on client requested changes that drives the behavior and calculations within our SaaS system.
  • Execute, maintain, and enhance existing SQL queries for every-day system configuration requirements across various client deliverables within the Product pipeline.
  • Ability to perform quality assurance analysis to confirm that configuration changes have the intended impact on underlying data or system processing that ultimately adheres to business requirements.
  • Responsible to maintain and provide support to track and manage deployment of system configuration changes through the Product pipeline.
  • Create data and develop test cases to enable end-to-end verification of accounting and financial artifacts and workflows.
  • Provide end-user support as required to address internal and client requests for data analyses, reporting, and system changes.
  • Initiate and perform end-to-end systems and acceptance testing
  • Document and investigate client reported software defects or issues
  • Work with the development team to make necessary client-driven adjustments to the CapAssure® offering

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

A successful candidate will have five to seven years of proven success in a related role, demonstrating a progression in responsibilities and possess a bachelor’s degree in management information systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related degree. The candidate should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent additional experience in the field of Computer Science is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in DBMS and expertise in Relational database systems required.
  • Expertise with SQL coding and data normalization in RDBMS platforms. Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, SSMS, SSIS and T-SQL.
  • Experience with handling large data sets using reports, construct queries, uploads using data imports and integration tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking in a heterogenous data environment.
  • Expertise with Functional testing, Quality Assurance and Quality Control fundamentals.
  • Experience with creating testing plans for processes that ensure processes are functioning within acceptable ranges.
  • Must have expertise using Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Must be facile with MS Excel and worksheet/analytic tools (VBA, Power Query etc.).
  • Must have experience with Software as a Service delivery model (SaaS model).
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills to support effective communication with a wide variety of constituents including:
    • business end-users of the system (non-technical)
    • development personnel (technical)
    • Project management and senior management personnel responsibility for oversight of initiatives
  • Good interpersonal and multi-tasking skills.
  • Experience with Project Management tools, Issue Tracking software and workflows.
  • Knowledge of web technologies, HTML, CSS, JavaScript a plus.
  • Knowledge of Tableau, PowerBI, or other visualization tool experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to interact with business users/clients, always maintaining the integrity of the Alter Domus brand.

Other functional qualifications:

  • Experience in Fund Administration and knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of data processing concepts / principals and validation techniques to ensure data integrity and data quality.
  • Experience with data integration, data warehousing and visualization tools.
  • Knowledge on APIs and how an integration can be leveraged to achieve the desired outcome.
  • Awareness of current technology capabilities, trends, and innovation opportunities.
