Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, as a Corporate Accounting Senior Manager you will lead the newly established Corporate Accounting Team owning the accounting policy guidance, month-close cadence, automation/simplification initiatives and several other key processes. You will have the opportunity to change the way the finance organization at Alter Domus works as your job will be to challenge the status quo – to think differently about how finance supports the business and propose process changes to help Alter Domus achieve its ambitious growth objectives, while delivering at the highest standards of integrity of financial reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the formalization and maintenance of Group Accounting Policy Manual and drive the global enforcement; Serve as accounting policy lead for the global finance team, providing technical accounting advice and guidance.
  • Own the preparation of complex technical accounting position papers forming conclusions on accounting treatment of new product launches, projects and transactions; Take an active role in the accounting integration of new acquisitions and lead the purchase accounting as required.
  • Manage a team of accounting professionals (c.a. 3-5 people) who work cross-functionally with finance teams across the company.
  • Operationally own the month-close process, including the underlying close schedule, process optimizations, and cadence of review cycles while ensuring all relevant deadlines are met.
  • Drive the implementation of a structured balance sheet reconciliation process, setting a high quality bar and fostering the adoption/compliance amongst global accounting teams.
  • Own the design of financial statements close process, including the planning of interim and final cycles, set-up of workflows and relevant tooling, and implementation of dashboards.
  • Take active role in audit planning and group-level audit coordination
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accounting processes and systems, working closely with finance and business leaders to identify pain points in financial processes and controls.
  • Lead the development and implementation of initiatives underlying the financial integrity of our external and internal reporting, while maintaining compliant accounting and reporting processes and effective controls.
  • Preparation and review of various deliverables to support both internal and external financial reporting needs, including analytic commentary and the preparation of supplementary financial analysis for management and other stakeholders.
  • As a senior leader you will be responsible for driving change when necessary, delivering communications and directions to the team in supporting the development and engagement of employees at all levels.
  • Promote and build Alter Domus' brand and culture both internally and externally, acting as an ambassador and role model to employees, clients, and customers and other external stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development, encouraging employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Drive a culture of compliance and risk control to mitigate financial, operational and reputational risks.
  • Promote ethical business practices, enhancing the company's reputation and social impact and ensuring Alter Domus maintains the highest Environmental, Sustainability and Governance (ESG) standards.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Minimum of 12 years of combined experience obtained in the fields of audit, accounting and financial reporting gained within the Big4 and Multinational Organisations.
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP. Qualified Accountant ACA, ACCA or CPA.
  • Past experience in a technical accounting / accounting policy role is mandatory.
  • Experience in the financial services or alternative investments industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience with S/4HANA is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of leading finance process implementation or transformations, working cross-functionally with senior leaders and teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with operating and implementing internal controls under SOX or similar frameworks.
  • Prior experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skill, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business leaders, finance stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-growing and dynamic environment, especially in industries that are undergoing rapid digit transformation.
