Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Senior Manager, as a Finance Senior Officer you will centrally own the end-to-end accounting of specific complex accounting areas such as leasing, share based payments, IFRS 9 expected credit loss reserves, on behalf of the global accounting team. Your job is to challenge the status quo – to think differently about how finance supports the business, and design and implement process improvements to help Alter Domus achieve its ambitious growth objectives, while delivering at the highest standards of integrity of financial reporting. Your job will be to work cross-functionally with key business partners and represent the accounting organization to various stakeholders both internally and externally. You will have the opportunity to change the way the finance organization at Alter Domus works.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting monthly, quarterly and yearly closing activities for specific complex accounting areas (eg, leasing, share based payments etc) for global AD entities under IFRS and local GAAP within required deadlines;
- Preparation of various deliverables to support both internal and external financial reporting needs, including analytic commentary and the preparation of supplementary financial analysis for management and other stakeholders;
- Partnering with the Corporate Accounting Senior Manager to perform accounting analysis and documentation of complex transactions in your areas of work (eg, IFRS 2 share based payments).
- Partnering with the Corporate Accounting Senior Manager to prepare disclosures in AD group’s consolidated financial statements for the accounting processes you own (eg, IFRS 16 lease disclosures)
- Engaging with auditors for the accounting processes you own, including providing necessary documentation, responding to audit queries and escalating audit issues in a timely manner.
- Working with various cross-functional stakeholders to maintain efficient and compliant accounting and reporting processes, and effective controls;
- Actively contributing to improvement initiatives, standardization, re-engineering of processes and controls, and implementation of best practices;
- Assist the business to achieve commercial objectives, including the ability to act as an adviser on financial matters.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or economics;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with an emphasis on accounting and financial reporting, preferably gained within a Big Four firm and / or a multinational organization;
- Strong demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with IFRS.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel;
- Ability to dive deep into data, existing processes and technology challenges in order to identify issues and opportunities.
- Detail-oriented yet able to reflect on and understand the big picture;
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-growing and dynamic environment, especially in industries that are undergoing rapid digit transformation.
Desirable experience/qualifications
- ACCA, CPA, or equivalent certification;
- SAP S4 Hana knowledge will be considered an asset;
- Ability to dive deep into data, existing processes and technology challenges in order to identify issues and opportunities.
