Title: Real Estate Loan Services, Assoicate I
Alter Domus is currently seeking a new Associate to join our Real Estate Loan Services team at our Chicago, IL or Carmel, IN office.
Position Overview
The Real Estate Loan Services team provides Loan Servicing for Commercial Loans, with an emphasis on Commercial Real Estate. This position is responsible for accurate recordkeeping and the execution of monthly servicing tasks, including the preparation and distribution of detailed reports, processing loan modifications, and ensuring precise data entry in servicing systems. The Associate will collaborate with clients and internal teams to maintain compliance and operational efficiency, contributing to the overall success of the loan servicing process.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Calculate, prepare, and distribute comprehensive monthly servicing reports for commercial real estate loans, including detailed analyses of loan disbursements, repayments, payoff letters, amortization schedules, borrower billing statements, trial balance reports, and client invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in processing loan modifications, extensions, or restructures within the servicing systems, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurately entered, and compliant with internal policies.
- Review and process distributions and escrow payments via wire, ACH, or check, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry into loan processing and customer systems, maintaining high standards of data integrity.
- Support the onboarding and review of new loans in the servicing system, as well as the onboarding of new clients, including the collection and verification of KYC documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of accounts with bank records to ensure accuracy and promptly resolve any identified discrepancies.
- Perform loan documentation and collateral reviews.
- Utilize effective listening and communication skills to liaise with clients, internal Alter Domus teams, and external parties regarding the timeliness and accuracy of loan activity information, fostering strong relationships.
- Collaborate closely with Senior Associates to support daily processing activities and contribute to team objectives.

Experience, Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience that demonstrates a solid understanding of financial principles and practices.
- Experience in commercial real estate loan servicing is preferred
- Strong research skills with the ability to independently analyze information and resolve problems effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams and external clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clarity in all interactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with a strong aptitude for data entry and analysis in a high-volume environment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in loan servicing tasks.
- A proven willingness to thrive in a deadline-driven environment, showcasing the ability to prioritize tasks and maintain high-quality standards under pressure.
