JOB DESCRIPTION:
As part of the Senior Management team, reporting to the Head of Compliance EMEA, you will use experience you have acquired in the past as well as excellent organisational skills, sound judgment, the ability to prioritise tasks, and strong personal character to constructively challenge senior leadership where necessary. As the Head of Alter Domus Guernsey’s Compliance function, you will contribute to maintaining a robust compliance framework, holding the prescribed roles of Compliance Officer, Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Money Laundering Compliance Officer for ADG, working alongside the Head of Client Compliance and their team.
- Undertaking compliance monitoring in accordance with the compliance monitoring plan to ensure that ADG remains compliant with all applicable regulatory and AML/CFT/CPF requirements.
- Review and update the Business Risk Assessment where necessary, providing updates to the Board and Operational Risk Committee (“ORC”) of ADG.
- Preparation of quarterly board reporting to the ORC and ADG board.
- Assist in monitoring the GFSC website for the release of revised standards and guidance, and ensuring those updates are brought to the attention of the Board of ADG and other relevant employees.
- Responsible for the updating and maintaining of relevant registers of the licensee.
- Undertaking or assisting with oversight assessment reviews for outsourced work.
- Maintaining internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local standards and regulatory requirements.
- Preparing and submitting all relevant regulatory reporting for ADG via the GFSC’s submissions portal.
- Providing support and training to the staff of ADG as required in respect of compliance and AML/CFT/CPF matters.
- Assist the Head of Client Compliance in the completion of compliance activities undertaken for ADG as required.
- Attend industry and networking events to represent Alter Domus, thus creating and strengthening relationships.
- Act as a point of contact between Alter Domus and regulators/relevant authorities.
- As MLRO, receive internal SARs from employees and review/action these accordingly, making any necessary filings to the FIU, GFSC and other relevant authorities.
- Support the wider Alter Domus EMEA Compliance team with group-wide compliance initiatives.
Your Profile:
- Have a passion for your role and for building successful client and board relationships through teamwork and high standards of service.
- Have 10 to 15 years’ experience, with >5 years in a senior management compliance role.
- Hold a relevant professional qualification in Compliance.
- Effective organisation skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, work to deadlines and be able to take initiative to act without waiting for direction where appropriate.
