JOB DESCRIPTION:
You are a highly motivated and experienced Manager Investor Review & Onboarding Team, and you will be responsible for overseeing a team of four tasked with providing support in all aspects of investors’ compliance throughout their lifecycle with Alter Domus, including the onboarding of new fund investors into our clients’ structures and conducting periodic reviews of existing investors.
Where required, you assist other parts of the Compliance function to enhance capability and capacity to deliver excellent outcomes for the business.
This role requires a strong understanding of AML/CFT/CPF regulatory compliance, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of four employees, ensuring effective collaboration and performance in the onboarding process and periodic reviews.
- Investor Onboarding Oversight: Ensure the timely completion of all new investor onboarding requests by supervising the team in the thorough review of customer due diligence (CDD) documents and screening information related to various investor types, including individuals, companies, trusts, funds, and partnerships.
- Decision-Making Accountability: Take accountability for decision-making in accordance with Alter Domus’ policies and procedures and escalate decision requests on risk-based approaches to the Compliance team to ensure a compliant and investor-friendly onboarding experience.
- Periodic Review Management: Oversee the delivery of the annual periodic review schedule through effective planning and ongoing monitoring of daily, weekly, and monthly reviews conducted by team members for standard, medium, and high-risk investors.
- CDD Compliance: Ensure that all outstanding investor CDD identified during periodic reviews is obtained within applicable timescales and in accordance with applicable key performance indicators.
- KYC Oversight: Review and validate KYC elements related to client-regulated board reports for both internal and external board meetings.
- Regulatory Maintenance: Maintain and update regulatory onboarding, periodic review, internal policies and procedures, including checklists, to ensure compliance with current Jersey Financial Services Commission AML/CFT/CPF standards and requirements.
- Team Development: Manage the day-to-day operations and provide ongoing training and development for four employees forming part of the team.
- National Risk Assessment Support: Assist with the completion of the National Risk Assessment annual submission of investor information to the Jersey Financial Services Commission, particularly in vetting politically exposed persons (PEPs), connected parties, and investors linked to high-risk jurisdictions.
- AML Letter Register Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of AML Letter registers to ensure compliance and proper record-keeping.
- Collaboration with Compliance Leadership: Work closely with and deputise for the Head of Regulatory Compliance in driving the achievement of various regulatory function deliverables.
YOUR PROFILE:
- AML Qualification: You have completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant discipline, supported by an International Compliance Association Diploma in AML.
- Relevant Experience: You have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in the financial services sector in Jersey, having worked within a regulated financial business in an AML/CFT/CPF environment, as part of a Compliance team.
- People Skills: You have a track record of building and leading strong teams, you have the requisite training and skill set to increase skills and productivity within the team. You exhibit a strong team spirit and are adept at building robust relationships within the business, while also taking the initiative when necessary.
- Regulatory Knowledge: You possess a deeply rooted and comprehensive understanding of the Jersey regulatory framework and the JFSC’s AML/CFT/CPF Handbook.
- Workload Management: You demonstrate the ability to thrive under pressure, are organised and driven, capable to effectively prioritise your own workload as well as that of your team, ensuring that all deadlines and schedules are consistently met.
- Initiative: You are used to working independently with minimal supervision, taking initiative to act without waiting for direction when appropriate.
