JOB DESCRIPTION

Alter Domus (“AD”) is seeking a Compliance Officer to assist and support the Company’s financial crime processes and other compliance initiatives. You will report directly to the UK Head of Compliance and play a key role in ensuring the UK remains compliant with regulations, legislation and the Company’s policies. You will work closely with all business units, as well as external parties from time to time. You may be required to support other compliance teams across EMEA, as needed.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Complete various tasks and testing assigned under the Compliance Monitoring Plan for the UK and other Alter Domus offices across Europe as required.

· Perform administrative tasks in relation to key financial crime and compliance processes such as, KYC, risk assessments and screening.

· Perform spot checks and analysis of KYC completed by the 1st line operations teams to ensure accuracy, timely completion and validity.

· Support the Senior Compliance officer in any other 2nd line compliance oversight activities as required such as following up outstanding documentation, monitoring KPIs,

· Utilise AD’s third-party systems to conduct negative news, OFAC, and PEP checks on client accounts, escalating higher risk items as necessary.

· Apply a risk-based approach in reviewing customer and transaction information to determine areas of risk to AD.

· Maintain accurate, organised, and current compliance records of customer accounts.

PROFILE

· Previous KYC experience (at least 1 to 2 years)

· Good understanding of UK/European Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing legislation.

· Knowledge of the UK’s regulatory landscape and rules set by the FCA (desired but not essential)

· Outstanding organisation skills

· Strong attention to detail a must.

· Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

· Ability to identify areas of risk and identify items requiring internal escalation.

· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
