Key Responsibilities:
Actively contribute to the day-to-day and month-end, quarter-end and year-end books close process (incl. but not limited to recording of accruals/prepaids, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts etc);
Reviewing bookkeeping entries and closing books and working schedules and reconciliations prepared by the officers
Investigating full balance sheet and profit and loss variances against different benchmarks and providing variance analysis and associated explanations as part of the books closing process;
Actively supporting the preparation of VAT, tax returns and other regulatory reporting and reviewing of the VAT, tax returns and any other returns prepared by officers;
Supervise, mentor and improve junior staff on their day-to-day operational work.
Involvement in the annual audit process and preparation of the annual financial statements and perform first review of the annual financial statements prepared by the officers
Collaborate with external parties as may be required;
Actively contributing to improvement initiatives, standardization, re-engineering of processes and controls, and implementation of best practices;
Basic qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or economics;
3 to 5 years of relevant experience are required;
Good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-growing and dynamic environment, especially in industries that are undergoing rapid digit transformation.
You are fluent in both English and French;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French would be an advantage;
Strong organizational, multi-tasking skills and strong analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation;
Ability to check and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
You possess team spirit, ability to work in demanding and high-pressure environment, motivation to work well as an individual and as a team and take initiative to act without waiting for direction when appropriate.
Being a mentor for the officers for coaching and improving the officers on their day to operational day work
Preferred qualifications:
Working towards an ACCA, CPA, or equivalent certification;
SAP S4 Hana knowledge will be considered an asset;
Ability to dive deep into data, existing processes and technology challenges in order to identify issues and opportunities.
